Unite with Us to Shape a Brighter Future!
33rd Anniversary
Pro-Fil Foundation Inc. joyfully celebrated 33 years of God’s unwavering faithfulness with the inspiring theme, “Cultivating the Soil for Growth.” The event took place on July 30, 2024, at Jesus Christ Church in the Valley, and it was a beautiful testament to God’s goodness over the years.
This year marked a significant transition for the organization as Ptr. Dan Panes stepped down from his role. However, in His perfect timing, God brought new leaders to join the journey of growth and transformation. We warmly welcomed Ptr. Edwin Dimailig, Teacher Lynne Hernandez, and Ptr. Mark Macatangay, whose passion and commitment have already begun to make a meaningful impact on the foundation’s mission. It was truly a day of celebration, reflection, and anticipation for the exciting things God has in store.
Pro-Fil Staff Outing 2024
With God’s abundant blessings, the Pro-Fil team, including our wonderful short-term volunteers, had the opportunity to visit Ladece Resort on November 22, 2024. It was a refreshing and enjoyable day that allowed everyone to strengthen their bonds and grow in fellowship—something that truly enriches their ministries. This time of rest and relaxation was much-needed and well-appreciated.
We were also incredibly blessed to have Ben and Rose join us, sharing their heartfelt testimonies about who God is and the incredible ways He has worked in their lives. Their stories deeply inspired and encouraged everyone present.
Teacher Tops
We are happy to have Christopher Gutierrez as our new STC tutor in Parola since March 2024. Welcome on board, teacher Tops.
Another Goodbye
It is always hard when we need to say goodbye to people who have grown dear to us and have been supporting the ministry of Pro-Fil in a very dedicated way.
This last February 29, 2024, and due to having passed her retirement age already by two years, we had to say goodbye to ate Marietta “Mayette” G. Dawe as one of our STC Tutors in Parola Grace Christian Fellowship. We are so thankful for everything she invested in the children at the STC, and praise God for her life! May God continue to bless you, ate Mayette!
Graduation at Hakbang ng Pag-asa
Graduation at Hakbang ng Pag-asa Even though our drop-in center is not mainly a tutorial center, but caters to children who, due to their family backgrounds, need even more basic support in every aspect of their lives, our staff makes every effort to also support the kids in their academic growth. Children attending regularly can join an adapted version of our reading starter program. And so it was with great joy that last March 9, 2024, eight children graduated from the reading program.
How much strength, patience and sweat does it cost the staff to deal with these kids everyday! But thanks to their investment, kids like Ivan don’t only get a chance in life, but also experience God’s loving kindness and his invitation for salvation.
Monthly Staff Fellowships
Since last June 2023 and once every month, we as Pro-Fil staff - STC tutors, the Hakbang ng Pag-asa staff, as well as the office staff - meet. Typically these days are filled with fellowship, a time of spiritual reflection, training, lots of laughter, and of course (almost most important): yummy food! We are experiencing how the fellowship with and the encouragement of one another is spurring us on. At the same time, we are using this opportunity to intentionally grow in our skills and knowledge, so that we might serve the children and their families with even greater joy and effectiveness.
Another highlight for us as Pro-Fil staff was our post- Christmas party, which we celebrated end of January and with a wonderful view from the “top of Angono”.
Office Staff Onboarding
2023 brought many changes in the Pro-Fil Office. As the Board had identified different areas of growth, and with ate Nanette Cuenca resigning, we needed to hire new staff. We are very thankful to have Marilen Cerda as our new Admin Officer, Joyce Deniola as our new STC Coordinator, and JC Brutas as IT Staff. Wiebke Schmidt- Holzhueter, Pro-Fil President, is serving as interims ED. We are grateful for the good teamwork in establishing effective systems as Pro-Fil Foundation.
Pro-Fil Foundation’s 32nd Anniversary
On July 16, 2023 we were able to celebrate God’s faithfulness and the joy of seeing changes in the lives of our beneficiaries when celebrating Pro-Fil’s 32nd (!!) anniversary. The celebration was held at EFVV, and our board member Ptr. Geoff Matias encouraged Pro-Fil to patiently continue to sow seeds of God’s hope and love in the lives of people,, as God, “being more of a farmer than a carpenter”, is the one to give growth.
Pro-Fil Staff Retreat 2023
Having daily and faithfully served the children and families in our STCs and in Hakbang ng Pag-asa Center throughout the last year, our staff enjoyed a retreat (Nov 29 - Dec 1) with lots of laughter and games, with food and sleep, with times of spiritual reflection as well as discussions about our Child Protection Policies, and all in all very a joyful time of fellowship!
Visit of German Embassy
In June 2023 we were excited to welcome two representatives of the German Embassy, Mrs. Laura Oexle (Head of Missions) and Ms. Anna Ventura (Economic Cooperation), and to show them our ministries at Hakbang ng Pag-asa Drop in Center and the STC Kabisig. Both were deeply impressed by the dedication and impact of these ministries.
Pro-Fil BOT Retreat 2023
In March 2023 the Pro-Fil BOT was able to have an evaluating and planning retreat, held at Rizal Recreation Center. Under the facilitation of Kuya Roland Pacis we were able to review and revise vision, mission and core values, and to identify key areas in which we want to grow and invest focus and strength.
Gratefulness in Sadness
It was with great sadness that last May 2023, we had to let go of Ate Nanette Cuenca as our Executive Director and Pro-Fil staff since 29 years!
We are very grateful to her for her faithful ministry and her example to many in loving God and loving people. Her diligent involvement has brought much fruit and and we praise God for her life and her investment in Pro-Fil Foundation, Inc.
